Nature says to me, "Look what we can do. We can make an animal that
bends it's knees in the opposite direction as you; jumps your fence; plays with a Magpie; gets so close to your dog that they almost rub noses through the wire fence; makes babies that look like it's predator; knows exactly where everyone else in the herd is at all the time; lays down and sleeps in sharp, prickly thorns; eats bark and is undeniably fierce if necessary. And, that is just the deer." Everywhere I have lived I have communed with nature. Invariably involving trees, dirt, rocks, plants, a body of water, hummingbirds, sparrows, robins, blue jays, gulls, definitely crows, ravens and black birds. I've seen brown and black bears and the damage these animals can do to garbage cans. Canadian and Colorado moose are both tall, massive, maternal and majestic. Alaskan eagles soar and perch over lakes. And, for years now, I have seen eagle, hawk, and sage grouse in all stages of their growth from infancy to middle age.
My family derives great peace living this close to choatic nature. It's
like living within FRACTALS and being one myself. For this benefit, I thank my husband, Jeff. "Colorado Doe, her 2 fawns in the tall grasses behind our home", @ Jeff Brachfeld 2006 |
